Covid Safety at Flowerland

 

As a business we started as a one-man band, a local resident making a living and contributing to the local community - that continues today. The business has grown but it is still an independent, family-owned business that is very much part of the local community more than 60 years on. The support and welfare of our community, our staff and customers is very important to us. Health and Safety is always necessary on site but COVID-19 has created additional concerns. Along with your support we have set out to provide the safest environment we can for all who visit us.

 

Our Government has set out clear guidelines and legislation for us all to follow. The measures we have in place follow these Government guidelines, this continues to be a shared responsibility and we ask that customers also follow the Government guidelines when they are with us. We appreciate that there will be individuals who are exempt from some of these requirements, we respect and we hope customers will also respect other's needs.

 

To help you and our staff:

 

We limit the numbers of people on site when necessary, this way everyone is able to observe the 2m social distancing rule. We will limit the number of people during these busy times by having a member of staff at the entrance to greet you and monitor numbers, they will let you know when you can enter the site. We have a large, open plan site half of which is outside with lots of fresh air blowing around so it is a refreshingly breezy place to shop.

 

We ask that everyone observes the 2m social distance advice, as outlined by the Government. This only applies to anyone outside your household or bubble. We have markers on the floor to help remind you of the safe 2m distance at key points around the site.

 

At the entrance we provide hand sanitising gel for your hands and sanitising wipes for you to personally clean the handles of your trolley or basket as you wish. We respect that some customers may wish to use their own hand sanitiser. Hand sanitiser is also available at other points around the site. Our toilets are open for your convenience and for whenever you wish to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and hot water. We advise our staff to regularly wash their hands and hand sanitise.

 

Contactless payments have been increased to £45 which we hope enables you to pay by card where possible, however we also accept cash payment if you prefer. Till points, card machines and counters are regularly cleaned and sanitised.

 

We wear face masks or face guards, or work behind a counter screen whilst working inside our site.  It is expected that visitors also wear a face covering inside as advised by the Government. We appreciate there may be exceptions to this requirement for some individuals.

 

We provide written and digital means, via the scan code, to use the track and trace system when you visit our restaurant.

 

Our staff are aware that if they show symptoms of COVID-19 or of any infectious condition that they are to inform us immediately, they must not come to work, and they must follow the medical advice and isolation requirements accordingly. No one must visit our site with symptoms of COVID-19 or whilst within an isolation period for COVID-19.

 

We continue to assess the situation on site and apply any changes to our procedures based on the current advice provided by the Government.
